About me
Hi! I'm Keehly, a special effects makeup professional with over 5 years of hands-on industry experience and a love for creating movie magic. My passion has always leaned towards realistic wounds and injuries (the gnarlier the better), and over the years I've refined my skills in sculpting, mould making and detailed SFX application to create work that feels authentic on camera and in person.
My Story
I started my journey in 2018 with some homemade scar wax and fake blood, so to now say that I have created my own line of film-quality special effects prosthetics is completely a dream come true. After graduating with my Diploma of Screen and Media Makeup from AACM I dove into the land of prosthetics, and quickly realised how few places there are in Australia to purchase handmade silicone prosthetics. I wanted artists in Australia to have access to high quality appliances without having to rely on overseas suppliers. After countless hours experimenting, sculpting, and refining techniques, I launched a few of my own film-ready prosthetics, each one crafted by hand, by me, with an obsessive attention to detail. And I cannot wait to release more!
I put an enormous amount of care into every piece I make. From the initial sculpt to the final silicone run, I handle each step myself to ensure the texture, movement, and finish feel as close to real skin as possible. I believe that good prosthetics shouldn’t just look impressive, they should also be durable, flexible, and easy for artists of all levels to work with. I am continuously improving my skills and techniques, brainstorming new ideas and producing new designs ready for you to use, so follow along to see what I do next!
